The general case of the interference of linearly polarised waves
The author has obtained the general formula of interference while two coherent waves with the arbitrary orientation of their electric vectors E1 and E2 pass through the analysator, the principle axis of which is arbitrarily oriented towards the vectors E1 and E2. The article also analyses individual cases of parallel and perpendicular relations of the vectors E1 and E2, which allows giving solid grounds for the classical experiments carried out by Arago and Fresnel. The theoretical outcome proves correct in the centimeter range of electromagnetic waves.
