Algorithm of developing of non-linguistic major students’ language skills via mobile technologies

Annotation

Mobile technologies are the one of the modern teaching aids that has teaching potential. Learning a foreign language based on mobile technologies is possible when using teaching algorithms with separately distinguished stages and steps. Two algorithms for learning a foreign language on the basis of blogs and mobile podcasts are proposes. The algorithm for the use of blogs involves three phases (preparatory, procedural and evaluative) and five steps (acquaintance of students with the aim of the project, the selection of material for discussion, participates in online discussion, reflection and self-assessment, teacher’s assessment of students). The algorithm for the development of speech abilities of students based on mobile podcasts consists of three phases (preparatory, procedural and evaluative) and eight steps (installation and operation planning, familiarity with the rules of placing podcasts, topic selection and creation of students’ podcasts, podcast recording, viewing podcasts, online discussion of students’ podcasts in blogs, self-assessment and reflection, teacher’s evaluation). The functions of the teacher and students at each stage of the algorisms are shown.
