FEATURES OF SHRIKES MIGRATION IN CENTRAL CISCAUCASIA

Annotation

Studies on migration Red-backed Shrike and Lesser Grey Shrike are performed in 2006–2012. New information about the features of migration routes of the birds, timing of migration, size and spatial distribution of shrikes in Stavropol region during seasonal movements is obtained. Autumn migration of Red-backed Shrike in the Stavropol region runs from mid-August to mid-September, the largest number of birds migrates in September. The general direction of the autumn migration of Red-backed Shrike in western region is the south-west, in the east-south-east. Migration of the Lesser Grey Shrike is in the east and north-east, in a short time: late August – early September.
