Biogeochemical state of the thermal power plants territories as an indicator of the natural environmental integrated pollution

Annotation

The accumulation of pollutants in the snow cover, bottom sediments and biota on the thermal power plants (TPP) territories are investigated. It was stated that concentrations of metals in these environments near thermal power plants (TPP) higher than those in the plowing layer of the soil. Chemical analysis of snow samples shows a sharp decrease of the amount of precipitated pollutants with distance from the thermal power plants (TPP) chimneys. The possibility of the use of quantitative pollution characteristics of snow cover, as well as pollutants accumulation in bottom sediments and biota, as indicators of the general pollution of natural and man-made landscapes has been grounded.
