Species composition of fishes of middle streams of Paravani River and Lake Sagamo (South Georgia)

Annotation

As a result of ichthyologic research in the middle stream of the Parаvani River and Lake Sagamo (South Georgia) eight species of fish were discovered – gibel carp Carassius auratus gibelio, Kura barbel Barbus lacerta cyri, gudgeon Gobio cf. gobio, flying fox Capoeta capoeta, eastern spirlin Alburnoides bipunctatus eichwaldi, Caucasian chub Squalius cephalus orientalis, Kura char Oxynoemacheilus brandti, trout Salmo trutta fario, from which gold fish is indicated for the first time in Georgia. It is suggested that in the studied reservoirs other fish species may have been detected as well.
