COMPARATIVE GENETIC ANALYSIS SOME OF ROCKFISHES GENUS SEBASTES USING SEQUENCE DATA OF THE FIRST PART OF CONTROL REGION (D-LOOP) MITOCHONDRIAL DNA

Annotation

The partial nucleotide sequences of control region (D-loop) of mitochondrial DNA were investigated. For the five rockfish species (Sebastes) from the Far Eastern seas of Russia the molecular phygenetic trees were built using Neighbor-joining, Maximum likelihood, and Maximum parsimony methods. The comparative analysis of data obtained on nucleotide sequences have been made jointly with the results in published papers and shown that all the representatives from the Sea of Japan, the Sea of Okhotsk and the Sea of Bering are clustered in a single node with the same species from other places. The average nucleotide divergence within S. taczanovskii was in range from 0.7 up to 1.4 %. These comparatively low genetic distances may mean that no significant barriers exist for the genetic exchange among populations of this species from different regions.
