MODERN TENDENCIES OF INNER MIGRATION IN THE UK

Annotation

The article studies inter-regional migration in the UK as well as migration across the borders of its constituent countries from 1991 till 2011. The analysis revealed that there are migration centres in the country and that migratory links among regions are persistent. It was found out that the characteristics of migration within the UK are stable and many of them have not changed since the 1970s. However recently under the influence of new determinants new internal migration trends have appeared.
