Stages of development of learners’ sociocultural and speaking skills via participation in international language cultural projects

Annotation

The stages of development of sociocultural and foreign language speaking skills of senior secondary pupils in the course of their participation in the international language and cultural studies projects are described. The didactic and methodical potential of project-based method in learning a foreign language and culture is described. The modern dissertations on the use of project-based learning a foreign language are analyzed. The focus is on studies that describe language learning my means of modern information and communication technologies. On the basis of this analysis the author identifies seven components that must be present in the method development and sociocultural skills of students in the course of their participation in the international language and cultural studies projects and developing relevant steps of this technique include: Part 1. Implemented in Russia: 1) definition of the goal and problem of the project; 2) discussion of the question about information security when using Internet resources; 3) brainstorming; 4) search, collection, compilation of the material; 5) the creation of a preliminary version of the project; Part 2, Implemented in the UK: 6) a discussion of the preliminary version of the project with foreign partners; 7) making adjustments and preparation of the final version of the project; 8) presentation of the project to the Russian and international partners; 9) and self-evaluation; 10) reflection.
