UNIVERSAL STUDY ACTIVITIES AS A BASIS OF FORMATION OF CULTURE OF MENTAL LABOUR

Annotation

Culture of mental labour is presented as a complex pedagogical phenomenon, highlighting the external and internal components, which in the end will make rationally and efficiently, with the least expenses of time and forces of people to do any mental work. The main objective of school education is the development of student’s ability to independently set learning objectives, to design ways of implementing them, to monitor and evaluate their progress. This goal can be achieved through the formation of universal educational activities (UEA) of students. The formation of techniques of mental work is given. Mental operations included in the admission are formed, as a rule, of course in the process of mastering specific content. In the learning process, learners’ attention is drawn to the content knowledge and not to ways of acquiring this knowledge. The learning process specifies the content and characteristics of the learning activities of the child and thereby defines the zone of proximal development of these UEA - the level of development of corresponding normative stage of development and relevant “high normal” of development. The aim of formation of universal educational activities is explained: to help students to acquire the ability to learn. The most important task of the modern education system is identified: the formation of set of universal educational activities that provide to every pupil the opportunity to independently carry out activities of teaching, set educational goals, find and use the necessary means and ways of achieving them, to be able to monitor and evaluate training activities and its results. The main types of universal educational activities in accordance with the objectives of General education are systematized: personal, regulative, cognitive, communicative, and their major subtypes. The basic features of universal educational activities as psycho-didactic phenomena are considered. The formation of universal educational activities is determined as a new target of training and education. Spontaneous development of UEA reflected in the acute problems of schooling in a low level of learning motivation and learning initiative of students as well as students’ ability to regulate learning and cognitive activity, in lack of formation of both use and logic of action and as a result in school exclusion, the growth of deviant behavior.
