The hero of the D. Rubina's novel “Unrelated Entrances” as a type of the “superfluous man”

Annotation

We consider the image of the lead character of D. Rubina's novel “Unrelated Entrances” in correlation with the type of the “superfluous man”. The main features characterizing this type are highlighted. The literary tradition of realization of such images in Russian classical literature is traced. We also carry out the analysis of how D. Rubina's lead character of the story synthesized characteristics inherent in different representatives of this type. In conclusion we propose to comprehend the concept of “superfluous man” as an archetype.
