Social and Inclusive Potential of Tragic Events: Discourse-Analysis of Youth Essays

Authors devoted this article to studying of the social relation to the events happening in the Russian society in recent years. Some events become resonant and «lift» the whole country, others become background while on the structure, the scale, content they can coincide. Today «designing» of public happens by means of mass media and social networks functioning, first of all, on the basis of messenger (programs, mobile applications or web services for instant exchange of messages), to make active the considerable mass of people and to operate them. Speaking about relevance of the studied perspective authors emphasized influence of information on masses, doing them uncontrollable and transforming to crowd where unity of emotions, the general psychoemotional pressure reach high degree of an inclusion, unity. In article authors presented the critical discursive analysis of the essay of students of Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov about an event in Kemerovo of representatives of youth (N = 150; girls – 69, young men – 81): personal perception of an event, the attitude towards victims, to the power, criticism of actors of an event, relevance of the reasons, a prospection. Students were offered the minimum structure of the essay focused on identification of degree of knowledge of an event, understanding of actions of key actors, ideas of causes of the tragedy. The analysis of texts was in a context of a social inclusion and unity as rather traditional basis of interpersonal and institutional interaction in these situations. On the basis of critical discursive analysis of the students' essays authors marked out psychological (a condition of the victims, the died children, their parents, feeling of vulnerability of residents and Russia in general) and economic (corruption of officials and negligence of owners of shopping center) effects of a tragic situation which «undermined» confidence of the population to the power and showed high unity and psychological support of people, readiness of the population to assert the rights.
