ANALYSIS OF THE LEVEL OF INTERPERSONAL TRUST OF ELDERLY PEOPLE IN THE MODERN RUSSIAN REALITY

Annotation

Study of the level of trust as a social phenomenon, is quite important in today’s reality, because on the basis of trust social connections and interactions are formed that contribute to overcome the disintegration processes in the society and increase its consolidated capacity. The purpose of the study was to determine the level of interpersonal trust of the elderly people. Main research methods were questionnaire survey, focus groups. In the study, it was found that respondents in relationships with people are cautious, i. e., experiencing feelings of anxiety, mistrust. However, the most trusting were the elderly, and the most incredulous that respondents aged 18 to 34 years. The analysis of the research results allowed to identify the conditions that influence the level of trust of the elderly, such as age, type of settlement, ethnicity, occurring transformational processes in society, etc. The thesis that interpersonal trust older people is based on family values is formulated. In conclusion, it is said that older people associate trust with confidence, security, warmth from others and loved ones, with friends and credibility, with the possibility of secrecy, understanding each other, with the ability to selflessly help family and familiar people.
