V.O. KLYUCHEVSKY ABOUT FORMATION OF THE BOYAR CLASS OF KIEVAN RUS

Annotation

Process of formation of the boyar class in Kievan Rus is investigated. The subject of research is the main opinion of V.O. Klyuchevsky described by the historian in his work "The Boyar Duma of Ancient Russia" about formation and development of the boyar class, the head of which was the Boyar Duma. The social structure of the Boyar Duma of XI-XII centuries, as well as analysis of main political and socio-economic processes in Russia, which contributed to the formation of social classes, are examined. The questions of the origin and values of social classes representatives who found in the Boyar Duma their place are examined. On the one hand, main status of social classes of Novgorod, Pskov, Kiev is considered, the immediate circle of the prince of Kiev is shown. On the other hand, role and importance of Russian prince in the free cities of Ancient Russia, his political significance in the life of Russian cities are shown. In addition, the role of the boyar class and the bodyguard are described, the main directions of their activities in process of solving public affairs are shown.
