Michel Foucault’s philosophy of power

Annotation

We consider one of the central problems in the philosophical heritage of the French philosopher and historian Michel Foucault – the problem of power. We show M. Foucault’s view on the non-classical nature of power. We pay special attention to the consideration of the specific characteristics of the nature of power. We give a brief analysis of such concepts as “microphysics of power”, “power-knowledge”, “biopolitics”, “disciplinary society”. We present the analysis of M. Foucault’s power as a genealogy of the subject. We describe the actions of power relations as the structuring force of a social body.
