Annotation

We provide a comparative analysis of the novella “Captain’s Widow” (Constantinople, 1920) and the story “Soul of a Woman” (Berlin, 1921). We consider the motives similarity, symbolism, artistic techniques of two works, but at the same we raise a question of their improvement, development in the story “Soul of a Woman”. We prove the presence of author`s evolution in these works, that is due to the difficult emigration conditions in the story.
