Stomach cancer rate dynamics and patterns in Tambov Region

Annotation

Presented statistical data for the Tambov Region reflects the degree of morbidity and mortality from stomach cancer in various age groups, also gender and intergroup differences in prevalence of this disease. The data were taken in comparison with neighboring regions of the Central Federal District (Lipetsk, Voronezh and Ryazan Regions) for the period from 2014 to 2019. The age of the studied patients ranged from 20 to 79 years. We consider the risk factors for the occurrence of gastric tumor pathology, their influence and possible treatment methods, as well as the effectiveness of diagnosing the claimed pathology. The object of the study was statistical data provided by the Tambov Regional Oncological Dispensary. According to statistics, men in particular aged 50–55 and older prevail with registered stomach cancer. The Tambov Region has a minimal percentage of early stomach cancer detection compared to neighboring regions of the Central Federal District, while there is a slight decline in mortality during the first twelve months after its detection.
