Morphometric cornea indices analysis at patients with myopia while using orthokeratology lenses

Annotation

A study of morphometric parameters of the cornea using OCL in 72 patients with myopia was carried out. According to the optical coherence tomography (OCT) showed a significant reduction in the thickness of the epithelium in the center and increase its periphery at the middle in the 7 day use of OCL. According to confocal microscopy an increase in the number of activated keratocytes in the anterior corneal stroma after 1 month of use OCL to their gradual reduction and stabilization to 12 months is revealed. These results allow us to determine the safety and quality criteria for the selection of OCL.
