Aims & Scope

Journal “Russian Universities Reports. Mathematics” is a peer-reviewed scientific and theoretical journal that publishes articles on mathematics and its applications containing new mathematical results, and review articles covering the current state of topical problems in mathematics. The main aim of the journal is to highlight the current state and achievements of mathematical research, to create a platform for the exchange of mathematical ideas and new mathematical results, to establish scientific contacts and organize joint research. The journal also seeks to involve students and young specialists in theoretical and applied mathematical research, to promote the general cultural values of mathematical science and education.

The main scopes of the journal are:

– prompt publication of new original mathematical results of theoretical and applied importance;

– informing about the directions of research in various branches of mathematics, about modern mathematical problems;

– promoting the development of applications of mathematical methods and results.

Themes of the journal

The journal publishes articles on various areas and branches of modern mathematics: algebra and logic, geometry and topology, functional analysis, differential equations and inclusions, optimization, control and game theory, probability theory and mathematical statistics, computational methods, etc., as well as applications mathematical methods and results in natural science. The journal also publishes materials of mathematical conferences organized by universities, reviews, personalities and information materials about events in the mathematical life of universities.

Scientific works are published in three main types:

– review articles reflecting the current state of research in a certain mathematical direction;

– original articles describing the results of the research of specific mathematical problems, containing complete proofs of the results obtained by the author;

– short messages which present the results of the research of specific mathematical problems, containing precise formulations without complete proofs.

Information materials about the mathematical life of Russian universities are also published.

The work submitted to the journal should be a completed research and contain new scientific results that have not been published anywhere before and are not presented for publishing in other publications. In case of detection of signs of multiply submission of articles, the editor refers to the flow charts of the Committee on Publishing Ethics (COPE).

Readership

The journal is intended for a wide range of specialists in the field of mathematics, post-graduate students and students of mathematical fields, as well as for research scholars and engineers who apply mathematical methods in the natural sciences, technics, economics, and the humanities.
